QuaziLogical made a classic illusion costume a couple of years ago. It cost him about $30 and took about 30 hours of work. This version of the trick looks better than most because the “dummy” is covered by a surgical mask, obscuring its fakery, and QuaziLogical wore a mask, too, to make his face look artificial. See a closer image of the legs he made.
Sure, going as a pirate when you were a kid was a ton of fun. But with all of the swashbuckling and rum-swilling, well, it’s even better as an adult! You can be a debaucherously brazen buccaneer or even a more mild-mannered privateer when you pick out one of our exclusive pirate costumes. Your persona will be entirely up to you. Just remember to grab a plastic sword and probably some gold coins, too, to enhance your adult pirate costume!
Historians often credit Peter J. McGuire, co-founder of the American Federation of Labor, as the first to propose a holiday celebrating workers. According to the modern-day American Federation of Labor, McGuire brought up the idea in an 1882 meeting of the New York Central Labor Union, saying that workers should lead a parade to “publicly show the strength and esprit de corps of the trade and labor organizations.”

Following the riot, police arrested eight anarchist leaders on charges of conspiracy. Seven of the eight were convicted of murder and sentenced to death, despite the fact that six of the defendants weren’t even in Haymarket Square at the time the bomb was thrown. At the Second International Socialist Conference in 1889, members voted to celebrate May 1 as International Workers’ Day, often referred to as May Day, to commemorate the Haymarket affair. President Cleveland wanted to avoid the socialist and anarchist connotations of May Day, so when he established a holiday to celebrate America's workers, he chose the first Monday in September, calling back to previous traditions from New York's labor movement.

As an etsy seller, I personally don’t think it’s unethical to list an item in any blog post (even a DIY one,) as long as the link takes you back to the item listing, and/or the creator is given credit. This one just happens to have been deactivated, maybe because the seller did it, or it’s possible etsy did. Either way, even if the item was copyrighted, someone crafty could make something similar for personal use (but, from what I’ve seen, not of the same quality unless they’re experienced with printing on fabrics!) Most sellers are up on their SEO and google stats, and it appears this one’s sales haven’t been hurt by their item being posted all over the web. 😉
