If you were a factory worker in the 1880s, you were probably toiling away at your job for an average of 60 hours a week, and it wasn't unheard of for textile laborers in New York to make only 75 cents a day, which was a paltry sum, even for the time. To bring attention to these unfair working conditions, labor organizers coordinated the first Labor Day parade on Tuesday, September 5, 1882.

Ben Carpenter is a cosplayer who uses a wheelchair. For this year’s Tampa Bay Comic Con, he and his group became the cast of Mad Max: Fury Road. Ben was Max in the scene where he was strapped to the front of a vehicle in order to supply blood to the driver. He used his wheelchair in the upright position for the vehicle, driven by a friend and accompanied by other characters from the movie. They won the award for Best Group Cosplay. Of course they did.
1. Crown and Coke: This is a fun couples costume or a bottle of coke complete with coke tab headband makes for a great costume on it’s own! The tutorial is pretty simple assuming you have a red dress on hand. Turn this into a group costume idea with friends and all be different bottles of pop! If you don’t have time to DIY, I found a cute option on Amazon: Coca Cola Dress and Diet Coke Dress. Jack Daniels T-shirt and black pants would be a super easy non DIY version too: Jack Daniel’s T-Shirt.
You might not recognize the name Caterpillar Power Loader J-5000, but surely you remember the mechanical power suit Sigourney Weaver used to fight the alien queen in Aliens. Ben Hallert built this one for Halloween in 2006. Read his story with links to photos and a video. Hallert previously made an APU costume from The Matrix, and a Mech Warrior costume.
A few years ago, redditor CampingIsInTents posted a picture of her Tippi Hedren costume and got a rousing response. The idea references a popular movie, but you won't see other people wearing it at the same party. She bought the birds, but had to alter the wings to make them just right. The idea has been used by creative costume-makers a couple of times before, even on TV.

one of the easiest costumes of YEARS of loving Halloween and dressing up, is the BLACK EYED PEA … it is simple, green clothes, sweats … green all over and a black eye with the letter p ON THE FRONT AND BACK OF SHIRT~!!! ONE YEAR a cereal killer ,…. yep … white t shirt, with small cereal boxes attached, with a plastic knife stuck into the boxes and paint or blood dripping from ea box down the t shirt …. no one will ever guess this one !!! one year I dressed up like a hunter, wanting to look more like a man I needed a beard, so I spread a thin layer of corn syrup on face and took coffee grounds and patted on syrup for a scruffy beard, the smell of the coffee all day at work gave me indigestion, but no one knew it was me, because of the real looking beard, just washed off with warm water …

Delve into this Halloween with numbers on your side when you and your friends coordinate a group costume theme. If you all just can't stop talking and speculating about the end of Marvel's Infinity War, hit the Halloween scene as the entire Avengers team, and you've assembled a group that is ready to captivate any party, club, or bar. Keep it classic and classy when you host a vampire-themed Halloween party with all of your friends dressed as their favorite blood-sucker.
According to historical accounts, Cleopatra Queen of the Nile pretty much invented sex appeal. So, we think it makes a lot of sense that we’re still dressing like her more than 2000 years later! We have a huge selection of Cleopatra costumes, and we’ve got plenty of Pharaoh costumes to get guys in on the fun, too. With alluring designs that show just the right amount of skin, we’re sure an Egyptian theme this Halloween is going to be sizzling hot!

Flickr user jpotisch made this snow globe costume by hand! The globe is fashioned from clear acetate, and the snow is made from bits of foam hanging by thread. He posted the building process in a Flickr album with some commentary along the way. He said it took about three days to build, but the finished product is a work of art! He also made the banana costume his son is wearing in the background—and it has a photo tutorial, too.
Here at BestProducts.com, we start planning our Halloween costumes early. Like, really early. We wouldn't dare be that person looking for a last-minute costume — and neither should you. There's nothing worse than someone asking you, "What are you supposed to be?" And apparently we’re not alone in our love for dressing up: Americans spent more than $3 billion on costumes last year.

“Middles are used to not getting their own way, and so they become savvy, skillful manipulators,” Schumann told Psychology Today. “They can see all sides of a question and are empathetic and judge reactions well. They are more willing to compromise, and so they can argue successfully. Since they often have to wait around as kids, they’re more patient.”
More people are going to college, taking longer to become financially settled, have easier access to birth control, and are embarking on demanding careers that put family life on the back burner. In addition to having children later in life, the average cost of raising a child has increased dramatically over the generations, so one or two kids might be all some couples can afford. These factors all add up to create smaller families, which means we’ll likely see fewer middle children throughout the country in future decades if these trends continue. And without them, we’ll lose out on all of the remarkable traits seen below.
