You and your partner are the coolest/funniest/most photogenic pair. You know it's true, and the Instagram likes just about prove it! When Halloween hits, however, you both struggle to think of a clever couples Halloween costume that is just as awesome as you are. Or even if you come up with a few fun ideas, by year three or four of dressing up together, you're probably in desperate need of some inspiration. Rather than settling for another boring look (Mickey and Minnie, for example), switch things up with one of these creative — dare we say, genius — couples' Halloween costume ideas.
Graphic designer Harrison Krix made a costume of the character Big Daddy from the video game Bioshock. This is a work of a serious propmaster. It took seven weeks of sculpting with foam, cardboard, and fiberglass. The finished product, complete with a working drill arm, is a work of art. The post includes many more pictures and a couple of videos of the drill arm in action.
Classic, regal and... who are we kidding? Toga! Toga! Toga! Nothing quite sparks the party spirit like the look of the ancient Greeks. Made famous by fraternity houses, the toga has a lot of things going for it. The look is quick and simple, with a whole plethora of easy ways to accessorize. If you want to go all out, you can grab some sandals and gold wreath crowns to look like Greek royalty, or you can simply toss on the toga costume. And all it takes to get the party started while wearing this costume style is to shout the word "Toga!" and repeat ad nauseam.
1. Crown and Coke: This is a fun couples costume or a bottle of coke complete with coke tab headband makes for a great costume on it’s own! The tutorial is pretty simple assuming you have a red dress on hand. Turn this into a group costume idea with friends and all be different bottles of pop! If you don’t have time to DIY, I found a cute option on Amazon: Coca Cola Dress and Diet Coke Dress. Jack Daniels T-shirt and black pants would be a super easy non DIY version too: Jack Daniel’s T-Shirt.

As an etsy seller, I personally don’t think it’s unethical to list an item in any blog post (even a DIY one,) as long as the link takes you back to the item listing, and/or the creator is given credit. This one just happens to have been deactivated, maybe because the seller did it, or it’s possible etsy did. Either way, even if the item was copyrighted, someone crafty could make something similar for personal use (but, from what I’ve seen, not of the same quality unless they’re experienced with printing on fabrics!) Most sellers are up on their SEO and google stats, and it appears this one’s sales haven’t been hurt by their item being posted all over the web. 😉
